Queensland Business Energy Saving and Transformation (BEST) Rebate Scheme

This program provides QLD small to medium businesses with funding to help with the costs of installing energy efficient equipment.


When does it start and end?

  • BEST has started on 5th October 2023 and closes on Monday 30 June 2025 or till funding is exhausted.

What do you get?

  • Rebates of up to $12,500 are available for eligible businesses which purchase (and install if required) eligible energy-efficient equipment. Eligible businesses must spend a minimum of $8,000 (GST exclusive) on the purchase and installation of the equipment.
  • The rebate is 50% of the purchase and installation costs (GST exclusive) of the eligible equipment. For example, if you spent $10,000 (GST inclusive) on eligible equipment, you can claim 50% of the GST exclusive amount ($9,090.90 ex GST) and would receive a rebate payment of $4,545.45.
  • Only 1 rebate is available for each eligible business. However, a rebate application can consist of multiple, eligible energy-efficient equipment items, provided the total rebate amount does not exceed $12,500.

  • Evidence of purchase
  • Evidence of installation date of installation

  1. Before applying, make sure you have confirmed your eligibility (including that you have purchased eligible equipment)
  2. Checked the status of the allocated funding here
  3. Your itemised receipt for your purchase (& installation)
  4. Details of your installer (if install is required)

Who is this for?

An NSW business energy consumer who are:

  1. Small to medium QLD businesses with an Australian business number (ABN)
  2. Is registered for goods and services tax (GST)
  3. Not be a company within the meaning of the Corporations Act 2001
  4. employ at least 2, but no more than 199 full-time (or equivalent) employees (including the business owner).

What Eligible Equipment does Leading Offer?

  • Your purchase must be made on or after 5 October 2023
  • it must have been paid in full and you have a receipt for the purchase, or purchase and installation.
  • it must be energy efficient appliances – 4-star energy rating or better. Check out products here.
